NATO CIMIC Staff Course

Aim

The NATO Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Staff Course is a course for all CIMIC staff officers working on higher tactical and HQ operational level. The aim of the CIMIC Staff Course is to provide the individual student with a thorough understanding of the definition, aim, components, principle tasks, function and organization of CIMIC and an understanding of CIMIC planning and integration at the HQs.
A basic understanding of CIMIC is required to follow this course. It is advised that students first participate in the tactical level CIMIC course. The course is open for CIMIC staff officers working at operational level and representatives of International Organizations (IOs), Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Governmental Organizations (GOs).
After receiving additional mission-orientated training, the student will be able to deploy and assume duties within CIMIC formations, headquarters and liaison agencies.

Length of the course

The NATO CIMIC Staff Course is a one-week course that runs from 8 am on Monday to 12 pm on Friday. Syndicate work is part of the course that will run into the early evening. The graduation ends the course at around 12 pm. on Friday.
