The director of the CIMIC Centre of Excellence, Colonel Roel Been, is visiting Colonel Brendan O’Shea in Dublin this week. Col. O’Shea is the commander of the Irish Command and Staff School and represented the UN Training Center where he conducts international CIMIC courses and training.
Both commanders are convinced that these centres can greatly benefit from a closer collaboration in the field of Civil Military Interaction by sharing collective knowledge, gaining unity of purpose, and connecting people and networks. “A great opportunity to strengthen both centres and our mutual community of interest” Colonel Been stated.
In the following days, the details and the wording of the future cooperation will be further discussed and identified.
