From 23 to 25 Nov 2015 CCOE will facilitate the NATO CMI-WORKSHOP and from 26 to 27 Nov 2015 the ACO CIMIC & CMI WG/SC.
Whilst the CMI-Survey is to check for possible gaps based on analytical methods, the purpose of the Workshop is to connect and find solutions based on a broad consensus and therefore “pave the way” for contributions to the AJP 3.4.9 writing team and other developments with the overall aim to operationalize CMI and enhance CIMIC’s contributions to CMI.
The purpose of this meeting is therefore threefold. First, to update the participants on the outcome of the CCOE CMI-Survey. Second, to develop and share coordinated and comprehensive solutions in order to operationalize NATO Policy 0411/2 on CIMIC & CMI based on the CMI-Survey findings. Finally, we are providing a forum for the autumn-meeting of the ACO CIMIC&CMI WG/SC chaired by SHAPE J9.
Invitations are addressing the Chief of Staff level, keeping the CIMIC/J9-DivHeads in CC. Invitations to civilian organizations will address a comparable level.
CCOEs information paper and first impression report on MC 0411/2 published summer 2014 used the “DOTMLPFI-structure” suggesting possible consequences for the 3-layers of NATO command (strategic, operational and tactical). The analytical based and more detailed findings of the “CMI-Survey Report” will basically use the same categorizing scheme. The CMI-workshop will pick up those findings and develop operationalized CMI-procedures for each category.
In order to be informed as early as possible and being able to sign up for the workshop individually, we have uploaded the invitation and its attachments here in this Project-Folder.
We will use this platform to keep you updated on the further workshop developments, especially on the development of the syndicate-tasks based on the CMI-Survey findings.
During this workshop, within the T&E-working-group it is planned to have one syndicate working on finalizing the CIMIC Training Requirement Analyze (TRA) AND within another syndicate we want to have a start-up for the CMI TRA!
This is why SHAPE J9 & CCOE are hoping for as many participants as possible – not only of the respective J9-Shops but also from other CMI-stakeholder branches like Information Operations, Strategic Communications, Advisor-family and/or Military Medicine/Military Engineering/Military Police of your Operations and Planning divisions.
