Humanitarian-Military Interaction (HMI) Training
From 14 until 19 July 2024, the CIMIC Centre of Excellence hosted the Humanitarian-Military Interaction (HMI) training for the UN World Food Programme (WFP). While the primary objective of the course is to prepare WFP HMI staff for operational deployments, participants from across WFP and external organisations, including both civil and military participants, were welcomed.
This training is part of an inter-agency effort aiming to ensure consistency in approaches to civil-military coordination across humanitarian organisations. It also aims to raise awareness and understanding of HMI core functions and relevant challenges, as well as to develop and enhance strategic relationships.
The CIMIC Centre of Excellence, with its extensive network, serves as a platform to foster mutual understanding and strengthen relations between military and non-military actors.
We value our cooperation with WFP and look forward to further enhancing and deepening our relationship.
