NATO Education & Individual Training - future considerations

The CIMIC Centre of Excellence (CCOE), in its role as the Department Head (DH) for the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) discipline in NATO  and as a NATO-accredited Education and Training Facility (ETF), participated in this year’s NATO Individual Training and Education Conference (NITEC) and NATO ITEP Planning Board (IPB).

This key event marks the conclusion of NATO’s educational year 2024 and brings together experts governing Individual Training and Education within NATO and its partner nations.

The annual conference, held from 19 to 21 November 2024 at the NATO Communications and Information Academy in Oeiras, Portugal (NCIA) was organized and conducted by the Education Training Programmes and Plans (ETPP) branch of the Multi-Domain Force Development Directorate (MDFD) within the Allied Command Transformation (ACT).

This year’s focus was to continue critical efforts to strengthen and align NATO’s Education, Training, Exercise, and Evaluation (ETEE) capabilities. In addition to plenary sessions addressing training aspects of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and the latest policy and concept developments, breakout sessions provided ample opportunity to discuss the progress of Global Programming, advancements in learning technologies, Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL), and strategies for adaptive training.

The CCOE looks forward to the upcoming educational year and remains committed to delivering valuable and relevant training solutions aligned with NATO’s E&T requirements.
