NATO CIMIC course under Polish responsibility

“Well done!”

CCOE’s Deputy Director and Chief of Staff, Colonel Martin E. Braterschofsky, recently had the opportunity to visit the Military Training Centre for Foreign Operations (MTCfFO) in Kielce. He was accompanied by General Command of the Polish Armed Forces (GCPAF) Division Chief Non-Kinetic / J9, Colonel Slawomir Waliszewski,

Poland, as one of CCOE’s sponsoring nations, hosted the NATO Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Field and Staff Worker Course from 2nd till 13th June 2014. By nature, to train and educate a multinational body of students representing Azerbaijan, Georgia, Italy, Poland, Ukraine and the United States of America is challenging. Therefore it remains even more demanding if NATO’s Quality Assurance criteria have to be met.

In light of the fourth iteration of the NATO CIMIC courses executed under polish responsibility CCOE’s Deputy Director had the pleasure to witness an enormous progress MTCfFO made in executing NATO CIMIC courses. He appreciated the significant number of civil participants and external experts involved. Moreover, the dedicated course staff proved its professionalism, especially in creating a suitable learning environment, allowing different cultures and nationalities to discuss and exchange their knowledge and experience openly. Colonel Martin E. Braterschofsky stated that the course met the required NATO standards, thus allowing the CCOE to hand out the NATO certificates and to mandate Poland to continue to host NATO accredited CIMIC Courses.

He also took the opportunity to compliment the Commander of the MTCfFO, Colonel Wieslaw Mitkowski, and his staff for their support and commitment. CCOE’s Deputy Director expressed his deepest respect and appreciation to the Polish Course Director, Major Pawel Polak, and his international instructors coming from Canada the Czech Republic and the United States of America

Finally, Colonel Martin E. Braterschofsky took the opportunity to express his appreciation and to report the outstanding result of this NATO training event to the Commander of the General Command of Polish Armed Force.
