NATO CIMIC Education & Individual Training Landscape

Feel invited to join our advanced NATO CIMIC courses!

The CIMIC Centre of Excellence (CCOE) is a NATO-accredited Education and Training Facility (ETF). We offer a wide range of training opportunities related to and adjacent to Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC). Our training programs adhere to up-to-date standards, incorporating methods such as E-Learning, Webinars, Mobile Learning, Gamification, Role-Play, Peer-to-Peer Learning, Learning Analytics, and continuous Assessment and Feedback.

We emphasise Soft Skills, Professional Development, and a Continuous Learning Culture in our trainings. These programs are primarily aimed at CIMIC personnel holding or assuming positions within the NATO Command and Force Structure, EU, UN, partner nations, and national equivalents. However, our trainings are also open to other organisations with a vital interest in the field of CIMIC.

We integrate expertise and experience from NATO, the EU, the UN, military and civil organisations, and academia to ensure comprehensive and effective training. Our NATO CIMIC Training & Education (T&E) landscape comprises a variety of training opportunities corresponding with the latest NATO and EU CIMIC training requirements.  The landscape is therefore organised modularly to provide seamless and demand driven access to our trainings (figure1).

To achieve optimum learning and time usage in the residential part of the courses, there is a need to invest an appropriate level of time into completing the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) module corresponding to the course. This web-based learning provides the students with the freedom to study the basics of the course they want to participate in, in their own pace in an comfortable environment of their choice. The content can be processed within a day or split up into several sections depending on the students own learning preferences. Please still be aware that the completion of the corresponding ADL module for each course within a stated time is mandatory before participating in our resident courses.

Detailed technical instructions on how to proceed, and the permitted time for fulfilling the ADL module, will be delivered to you subsequent to you having been accepted as a course participant.

Our comprehensive course landscape follows a modular approach to meet customer requirements, stay flexible and remain efficient. Depending on your background and experience, certain modules or perquisites may be skipped. The decision if modules can be skipped lies by the respective course director. If you have already successfully completed a certain module, you do not have to repeat it for another course.

To complete the M-CMI, students have to complete the NCSWC and either the NCHCC or the NCAAC.
