Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) meets OSINT and AI

The NATO CIMIC Analysis and Assessment Course (NCAAC) currently held at the Civil-Military Cooperation Centre of Excellence (CCOE) in the Hague is progressing.

Yesterday, while exploring the collection phase of the CIMIC A&A workflow, the students were introduced to Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) by Master Sergeant Jolien Zomerdijk representing the Dutch 1 Civil-Military Interaction Commando. Jolien has provided an excellent presentation accompanied by tips and tools helping to ease collection activities. So, the fundament was put to go even further.

Traversals Analytics and Intelligence Ltd, a company with years of experience in AI-powered OSINT, provided an outstanding presentation about their capabilities for collection, evaluation, visualisation and dissemination of publicly available information for analysts and staff involved in analysis. Applying their intelligence platform, Traversals demonstrated faster identification and response times by processing multilingual information in support of a fictive CIMIC use case.

All in all another great step forward of CIMIC to perform against the level of ambition to provide the desperately needed understanding of the Civil Environment.
