“The future of Humanitarian Relief and the role of Civil-Military Interaction”

Josef Reiterer, Chief of the Civil-Military Coordination Section (CMCS) at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), will discuss current and future issues of civilian and Military cooperation in the resolution of relief operations.

This event is open to anyone interested in humanitarian relief and crisis resolution!

There is no requirement for membership in any official relief or military organization to participate.

UN OCHA

OCHA was designed to be the UN focal point on major disasters with the mandate to encompass the coordination of humanitarian response, policy development and humanitarian advocacy. The agency’s activities include organization and monitoring of humanitarian funding, as well as information exchange, coordination and rapid-response teams for emergency relief.

Following introductory remarks, Josef Reiterer will respond to questions, comments and observations on humanitarian relief and mission issues from the audience.

Registration

Due to capacity restrictions of online participants, interested users are requested to register online through the CCOE homepage (Network Area). Once registered through the Network Area, select “PROJECTS”, choose “Webinar UN OCHA” at the low end “Request to Join”. Approval will be issued within 24 hours.

A day ahead of the actual Webinar, all registered participants will be mailed a log-in link into the mail account provided. Your information will be used only for the facilitation of this Webinar.
