The NATO CIMIC & CMI Annual Discipline Conference (ADC) 2016 is hosted by Austria and was opened in Vienna today. For the upcoming two days the conference will inform all those attending on the global programming process related to CIMIC Education, Individual and Collective Training. The ADC also provides a forum for the participants to address and discuss CIMIC & CMI topics. And finally it is the place to coordinate CIMIC instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to (NATO) CIMIC Courses and Exercises within the community. In doing so shaping the Instructor Support Plan for 2017.

The ADC is hosted every year by another nation. Slovenia hosted the ADC in the year 2014 and Denmark acted as the host for the ADC in 2015.

This year Austria, in the great international city Vienna, offered to support the CCOE hosting the conference, what is appreciated a lot. More than 30 international organizations are located in Austria’s capital. The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, (OSCE), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and, the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), which is one of the four official residences of the United Nations, are just some examples to be named.

Without a doubt a perfect place for the NATO CIMIC & CMI Annual Discipline Conference.

The outcome of the ADC is the Discipline Alignment Plan (DAP). The DAP is the report, which concludes the Global Programming cycle.
